Graduate Program

Stipends are available for all Ph.D. graduate students. These stipends come from graduate assistantships supported by the College of Medicine, teaching and research fellowships and student fellowships supported by the Graduate College, and research grants awarded to individual faculty members. In addition, selected graduate students may be supported by interdisciplinary training grants in cell and molecular biology, biocatalysis, and in genetics.

For most students, current stipends are, as of Fall 2007, $23,000 per year. A few students have special fellowships that have a higher stipend. Full tuition, fees, and a significant contribution to health and dental insurance are paid by the department.
