A.       0.2 M NaOAc · 3 H2O = 13.6 g in 500 ml

B.       0.2 M Acetic Acid = 5.78 ml glacial acetic acid in 500 ml H2O

C.       Titrate B with A to give final pH = 4.0

C.       Take 500 ml C and add 29.22 g NaCl

E.       QS 1 ltr

(Note:  pH may drop to about 3.7 upon dilution (step E).  This is ok for CNBr column washing.  If desired, you can bring pH back up to 4 with 0.1 M NaOAc, and then add more NaCl as necessary to give final conc of 0.5 M NaCl.)
